Tell Them by Andrae Crouch & the Disciples

I Love to Tell the Story
by  Arabella Hankey

   I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love;
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true,
It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.

 I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.

 I love to tell the story, more wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams;
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me,
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

  I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, ’tis pleasant to repeat,
What seems each time I tell it more wonderfully sweet;
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.

  I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest;
And when in scenes of glory I sing the New, New Song,

’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

      I have never thought of the word "story" as one that exclusively described a work of fiction, a myth, or a make-believe tale.  To me it can also mean a report, a record, or a telling of an event -- something that really happened.  I enjoy make-believe and fairy tale stories.  I love to hear and read great fiction --- the invented adventures of creative minds.  But, some of the most exciting and ejoyable stories that I have ever known are about true events.

     The story about Jesus is one that has had the greatest impact on my life.  I love to tell THAT story to as many people as I possibly can.

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word;
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell how the angels in chorus,
Sang as they welcomed His birth,
“Glory to God in the highest!
Peace and good tidings to earth.”

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word;
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.
